The name Freja (frei-ya) is of Scandinavian origin and means "love". I thought it fit beautifully with our mission.

Our Story

After a hopeless search to find a suitable bag for an important interview and fueled by the belief that women were in need of both functional and luxurious handbags to support their modern lifestyles, our founder Jenny pivoted from her career plans to create her interpretation of the perfect work bag.

Our handbags are designed to be forever pieces for a well considered wardrobe –created on the premise that women’s handbags should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also highly functional and crafted responsibly with a transparent supply chain. Freja is not about having the largest selection of styles, but instead focuses on curating a collection of well edited, multipurpose pieces made with a compelling narrative and attention to detail.
